About
Deborah Leavens joined Herndon Family Medicine in 1986 as one of the three founding physicians. She is a native of Northern Virginia and graduated from the University of Virginia in 1975 and The Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University in 1979. She did her Family Medicine residency at Fairfax Family Practice Centers, at that time located in Vienna, Virginia. After residency, she joined the Army, serving four years in various locations in Germany. After her service, she returned to Northern Virginia and has been with Herndon Family Medicine since that time. She enjoys reading, hiking, gardening, toy poodles, and is active in her church.
