Dr. Richard Uribe is a board-certified and fellowship-trained primary care sports medicine physician, specializing in the prevention, diagnosis, and non-surgical treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. With a strong background in family medicine, Dr. Uribe is dedicated to helping patients of all ages and activity levels—from elite athletes to weekend warriors—return to peak performance. He believes in a patient-centered approach, emphasizing education, collaboration, and personalized treatment plans tailored to each individual’s goals.
In practice, Dr. Uribe’s areas of expertise include: non-operative care of musculoskeletal injuries (sprains, strains, tendonitis, fractures, joint pain, and overuse injuries), musculoskeletal ultrasound, ultrasound-guided injection therapies (platelet rich plasma, prolotherapy, viscosupplementation)
myofascial therapeutic needling, and concussion evaluation and management. He has a particular interest in myofascial therapeutic needling,
lifestyle medicine, and diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound.
Dr. Uribe is also actively involved in the athletic community, serving as a team physician for Herndon High School and participating in outreach programs to promote healthy, active lifestyles. Outside of medicine, Dr. Uribe spends time hiking, reading, and traveling with his wife. He also enjoys attending various sporting events in the area and staying physically active.
